A few years back when I was heavy into American Flyer S Gauge (I took a break for about 10 years or more and am not back at it with a vengeance) I bought parts from Leventon Hobby Supply..it seems they are gone? There are a few parts houses out there that sell on Ebay but one thing I'm looking for and can't seem to find are the "dry rub" lettering sets I used to get from Leventon. Does anyone have a lead on more American Flyer S Gauge parts? or suppliers.. especially where to get the dry rub transfers? these made restorations a professional job.
Lover of all things Gilbert, truly a man ahead of his time.
For parts, Doug at Portlines is hard to beat. RFG is also very good, and their smoke fluid is the only fluid I use in my AF.

I used to order from Ron Leventon too, but I am not sure if he is still in business. Janice Bennett used to make the dry transfer lettering, but Lionel put her out of business.

Well shame on Lionel for doing that! I just never understood a mega corporation stomping on something like this, that was used in the preservation of antiques??? Like someone making a few dry transfers is going to infringe on their corporate profits. I used to use those dry transfers frequently when doing restorations back then. They were wonderful! Decals just don't cut it in some cases.. I made a few circus cars for my own use using the dry transfers and they turned out really well!
I did some quick research and found that some craft stores carry an inkjet kit to make dry rub transfers.. now if I can only get a printer that prints bright white!
Oooops it looks like Port Line Hobby has a whole line of dry transfers.. so I take back what I said about Lionel.. (well not really)
