When you get it, keep in mind that you won't get the values listed from a dealer.  To quote the current edition, "...someone selling...to...a train dealer...is unlikely to receive the stated value....Sleepellers get about half the amount."

Also, pay close attention to the information in the front of the book about judging an item's condition.

lionel Train book??
Posted by ollevon on Monday, September 12, 2011 6:18 PM

Hello Folks

I am an H O guy and know nothing about O scale Lionel  trains but I came across 6  large boxes ( very large) of Lionel trains. Going through only some of them, Their are  5 locomotives,  2-F units 2-steam units, and a   diesel switcher. Tons of track of all sorts .  Countless  amount of rolling stock all in their own boxes.Plus many plastic kits of O scale structures None of them built yet, and loads of accessories  I must say, the boxes look like they have been stored in a damp basement for quite some time, but the trains look fine. My question is;  is there a book that can tell me the value  of all this.

 Thank you all,

  Sam
