Man, talk about defending the indefensible.
If the seller was forewarned about delayed payment, that would be a different story.

Their cash flow issue should not be your problem.
Will they be paying you interest?
I don't think I can avoid paying any of my debts interest free when I have a "cash flow problem"

LOL...are you living in the 1950s or what?  Cash flow problems are affecting EVERYONE in this economy. When unemployment rates are above 9% and millions of people are out of a job, not paying bills is a common occurence. At least this company was honest enough to admt it and they didn't just ship his item back and tell him tough toenails.  I will still be a loyal customer to Trainz. They are one of the "good guys".

I received good client service from them on an ebay purchase of modern Lionel operating water tower. I had to send it back twice because it didnt work (they provided fedex shipping labels) and when it finally worked it leaked (fortunately I tested it on kitchen counter!). They took it back (fedex againg) and gave me a full refund - I would have been satisfied with store credit.

I've had nothing but good luck with them. I have bought both from E-Bay and on their website. But I've never sold anything to them. I suspect right now there are a LOT of people trying to sell stuff and not a lot buying. So it may be affecting their cash flow in a negative way.

Of course, you also have the option of selling things on E-Bay Big Smile

Did you get your check? If not stay on them even if you have to send them 3 e-mails a day.

I agree they should have paid you a long time ago.  They wouldn't let you get away with not paying for goods received for weeks on end without any communication.

I've purchased several things from them and the only problem I've encountered was with FedEx sending my packages all over the country and more often than not back to Georgia at least once before I get them.  I assume that's the fault of the shipping department and not FedEx though.

Like 88 said some have had good some have had bad I had good and would concider dealing with them again I bought a train set from them and was getting ready to move well about a month later after receiving it I finally got around to testing it and the tender shorted out everytime you add power to track. I told them of what was going on and why the drag in contacting them and they sent me a return lable and I returned it and had it back in about 3 -4 weeks I figured in that case that was good seeing they had other items going on at the time. But I do agree you should of been given a check by now for your items.

I have probably purchased 20 to 25 items from them, by E-Bay auctions and through mailorder from their store. They always shipped the items promptly without a hitch. One item, a new Lionel Hotbox reefer had a very low sound output, barely could hear it. They told me to send it back and they replaced quickly. Currently I have a couple items on preorder with them.

Some people have good experience with them... others not so good.

Personnally if it means me not getting the item, or purchasing from them, I will go without.

I have had very bad experiences with this company and do not trust them.  I won an auction on Ebay for a set of MTH UP F3's.  They arrived in five and I thought that was great until I opened the box and took out the trains. The motored locomotive was missing most of the traction tires and the one it did have was not on the wheel.  They advertized these as being in excellent condition.  I got the traction tire on and ran it around the track.  There was no sound and it was really slow.  I sent them an e-mail that went un answered they I contacted Paypal and they notified them about the trains not being as described then they e-mailed me telling me they sent me a fed label by snail mail.  It took over a week to get it.  I immediately sent the trains back.  I had to check Fe Ex's website after a week to see if they got them and they did.  Then it was a two month long battle to have them fixed and refused to answer any e-mails requesting a refund.  I had to start sending them e-mails everyday asking them what was going on.  They did e-mail me back a couple of times but always eluded the subject of refund, repair, or replace.   I threatened to go to my bank and all the sudden they sent me an e-mail telling me thay they were repairing the trains.  All of this took over two months.  I was at the end of my rope with them and I finally sent them an e-mail telling them that if I did not have an answer in 24 hours I was going to the bank and would dispute they charge. They sent me a tracking number the next day.  In the end it cost them more money than I had paid them. I'm sorry for the lengthy post I just want people to know what kind of company they are.  I tried phoning them and they never answered. Please avoid them at all costs.

The first, a purchase, took two weeks

Purchase = you give your money to them

Selling = they give their money to you

On the other side....I have had two transactions with them.  The first, a purchase, took two weeks to get the item.  The second, a pre-order, took nine months even though the same item was available at other outlets eight or nine weeks earlier.  Their answer: Volume   !!!!!

I would contact them again in writing and request immediate payment or else you will need to take legal action.  They had the goods on or about June 30th.  You have nothing in return.  It is now over 9 weeks later.  That is both preposterous and worrisome.

Waiting over 8 weeks to receive payment for goods is terrible. Hopefully they don't have a cash flow problem because of the heavy incoming volume.

Selling trains to Trainz.com
Posted by jimmydelv on Thursday, September 8, 2011 10:37 PM

Has anyone recently sold their trains to Trainz.com and experienced a long delay in receiving their money for the items? I sent my trains to them in late June and was told on the 30th of June that my check would be to me in 2-3 weeks. After that period went by, I inquired again and was told they had a high incoming volume and I would receive my check in 4-6 weeks. After 8 weeks went by, I inquired again and on August 31st was told they would look into it and get back to me. Another week has passed by since without a reply as to what is going on. Although I believe them to be a reputable dealer, I must admit I'm getting a bit concerned. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
