Thanks I will.

I already picked up the two Lionel box cars 9470 and 9422. The wife don't know yet so when she finds out I may have to live in the dog house

Tks,

 Kevin

Also look for these:

9470           E, J & E       Bpx car. Green, 1984

20-2729-1    E, J & E       Sharknose AB Unit Diesel Set "701"; green/orange            06, 08

20-2729-3   E, J & E       Sharknose A Unit Diesel (Non-Powered); green/orange   06, 08

20-93086   E, J & E       Box Car "61389"; Green/yellow                                               02

20-98349   E, J & E       Coil Car "7159"; Orange/black                                                   03

My grandfather worked for the E, J & E in Gary IN, in one of the switch yards for a steel mill.

Where the pistons keep on charmin' and the wheels go round' and round' And the steel rails are cold and hard for the miles that they go down.

Kev, Railgraphics might be a source for your decals.

The orange and green Lionel boxcar is #9422 and the green Chicago Beltline is 9470. It seems like the 9470 is a bit harder to find (around here anyway). Here's a shot of the two of them on our club layout:

Don't know the MTH numbers; perhaps they are on the MTH product locater.

Hope this helps,

J White

Yes EJ&E used The Outer Belt, Chicago Belt and "The J"

Do to yhave any idea of the Lionel numbers for those cars and the MTH numbers?

 Thanks,

 Kev.

Lionel did 2 boxcars, one in orange and green, and the other just green. The green one isn't listed as EJE, but something like Chicago Belt.

MTH did a coil car, I think in two numbers. It's a black car with orange cover. They also listed a Baldwin locomotive A-B set, but I'm not sure if it was ever produced.

That's all I know of,

EJ&E - ELGIN JOLIET & EASTERN rolling stock in O gauge
Posted by KRM on Monday, September 5, 2011 1:04 PM

Anyone seen O gauge EJ&E stuff? I grew up next to The J and would sure like to have some rolling stock on my 3 rail layout.

I am going to make my General Models Corp EMD that has no lettering into a EJ&E switcher using some decals I ordered.

I see it in HO but have not found anythink but some decals so far in O.

 Thanks,

 Kevin.
