The 153C has 3 wire contacts , 2 on one side and one on the other. For the side with 2 contacts .... In the "normal" position (no weight on it) the upper contact should be engaged. When the weight of the train passes over the assembly, it should depress unit so that the upper contact disengages and contact is made with the lower contact.
To all...I actually figured all of this out...so no need to reply. Wow, I haven't done train stuff since the 80s and the amount of help on the internet is incredible...this forum, lionel pdfs, you tube videos. So great.
My contactor appears a bit bent...almost stuck. If I take it apart and put it back together...what do I need to know.so that it is adjusted correctly. Any guidelines. I loosened the upper plate but can someone tell me what actually is supposed to make contact when the train rides over it?
