Another tinplate candidate.. The link below is an interesting site that describes this prototype "as a self-propelled car had an aluminum body, 60' in length, and was powered by two Wankesha 160 h.p. gasoline engines, reaching speeds of 90 m.p.h. It was exhibited at the Chicago World's fair 1934 and then leased to the Gulf, Mobile & Northern in 1935 for service between Tylertown and Jackson, Mississippi. The railplane is principally known as a test vehicle although it saw some small commercial service."
More on 1930's styling...shrouded steam as well. Thought a minority might be interested.

Nothing is more fairly distributed than common sense: no one thinks he needs more of it than he already has.
Sounds good to me! It would look great beside my Schylling rail zeppelin! And I prefer this one to a Budd car with jet engines!

Agreed
The rail zeppelin, the German model, was also an experimental model that went into testing, but never caught on. Lionel made a model of the rail zeppelin, but it was a wind-up, non electric.

That is unique, although it looks like it could be, I don't know, top heavy? unbalanced?
