Once you have confirmed proper e-unit operation, use 3 higher current bulbs in the Budd to heat the station timer faster.

I did this on my last layout using a 153 block signal (which has the same mechanism in it as your (I'm assuming 132) stop station.  I always thought it would only work with a 2 position e-unit, that a 3 position e-unit wouldn't work.  At first glance, it would seem that you're right--the stop station should shut off the power when the Budd gets there, then turn it on again after a few seconds, putting the Budd in neutral while tripping itself again, then after a few more seconds it comes on again and puts the Budd in reverse.  So I have 2 suggestions:  if you place the Budd on a regular section of track, is your e-unit working correctly?  Second suggestion is find a loco with a 2 position e-unit and try it.  What may be happening is that the 132 may not be completely cutting off the power, it may be only lowering the voltage to make it look like your Budd is stopped, but it may not be enough to trip the e-unit to the next position.

Hopefully Bob N can chime in here and make more sense of my explanation!

Tips & Tricks 35

In Pete Riddle's Tips and Tricks book I'm trying to wire no. 35 Automatic Point to Point Commuter Line. The stop station is tied into the dead section of track at the end of the line. According to the tip, the Budd car should start again in neutral then "after a few seconds the stop circuit disconnects power again, then comes on again after a short pause. This time the e-unit cycles to reverse and the Budd car proceeds in the opposite direction".

I can't seem to make it work, The Budd car just sits there in neutral.

I could use a little help. Thanks.
