heres my work on my PB-1 By Williams First I'm not a re-modler prior to this so I'm going to state some things in case someone else like my self won't make some of the same mistakes.

First i didn't realize the silver part came out so I almost returned my quick release chuck I bought as thought I couldn't use it. Actually was able to pull out with my fingers but use pliers here to highlight the item.

I also learned that you need to clean the plastic barbs that wind up on the drill bit or you will make holes too big by accident so I now will have to figure the best way to fill some of them in a little and guess find the best matching paint I can.

anyway here is a befor pic

and a couple of after shots

and one of the A+B together yes I'm going to paint the trucks and the fuel tank on the B silver so it matches the A (Lionel engine) and I still need to see if I can make the number plates as I have the numbers but theres a piece Lionel never offered that holds the numbers and thats the piece that is missing.

I ran into this very unusual display at the Rock Island 2011 Train Festival.   A mobile model railroad in a display trailer!  Has any  one else run into this guy before?

As the colors would suggest, inside is all three-rail O-scale.

As you can tell, the downside of such a display is the problem of taking pictures through the glass.  There were a couple of S-scale displays as well, one from a club in Chicago that featured scale equipment, and one individual display with classic AF.

For more pictures, including prototype equipment, connect to my album.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Bill,

Thanks for being faithful in starting SPF each week.  It looks like there is a lot of freight traffic moving around in you neck of the woods.  Thanks to all for the photos posted this week.

The Board of Directors of The Blueboard Central Division of American Flyer Lines has been looking into the purchase of some new equipment.  At the top of their list has been an Inspection Car for the Maintenance of Way Department. They have done a fairly extensive market survey of equipment available and decided to order from a fairly reputable firm named Lionel.  The photos of the Inspection Car in their advertising looked like just what they have been looking for.

The order was placed months ago and the custom built car was delivered this week.

The president of the line invited a few dignitaries to take a spin in the new car and take a look at the condition of some of the roadbed, stations and other items along the line around town.  I managed to catch a few shots of their progress with my trusty Kodak Brownie.

The general consensus of those on the trip was that things along the line were in pretty good shape, and the new MOW Inspection Car performed flawlessley.  I suspect that the folks in town will get accustomed to seeing the vehicle cruising around town as a number of employees take it out for a spin.

Looks like the unit that was at York a few years ago with Neil Young. After that I believe, could be wrong, that it was called Big Mo or something like that and re-equipped with MTH for a couple years. It was under private ownership with some sponsership. Last I heard it ran out of cash.

This or something very similar was at the Railroaders Museum in Altoona for a week or two for a couple of years. I'm guessing mid 80's

Wow, the Big Mo! I saw this at a couple of shows 10 or 12 years ago. Seems to me it was equipped with Lionel the first time I saw it, then updated with the MTH. RailKing released a model of it a while back. The sides open up, and it comes with little poles to hold them open. There are backlit pictures of the actual layout inside. I have one in a display in my basement.

I believe MTH came out with a series of Big Mo rolling stock. I know I have a hopper.

It used to be Harry Turners Traveling LIONEL display back in the late 80's and early to mid 90's. I believe t Lionel stopped sponsoring it, and MTH sponsored it for a while. I remember seeing it for sale a while ago.
