AMT / KMT / Frank's Roundhouse Box Cars

Perhaps I enjoy collecting the more obscure items....well.....maybe I do! I have been looking for a #236 Ontario & Western Box Car for years. It took me 10 years to find a Marx 2002 red hand car with Yellow Men, but, the fun is in the search. For me, it definitely is.

At this time all help would be appreciated in finding a #236 AMT / KMT Ontario & Western (O&W) box car with box.

Mike, I'm no help with the #236 O&W box car, but maybe you can help me!  I have a dark ("Brunswick"?) green reefer with antique gold lettering reading "General American Refrigerator Express" and "HOOD'S Grade A Milk."  The "A" is red, outlined in white.  To the right of the simulated door is a multi-color circular logo.  The center features a brown cow's head against a light blue sky background.  Around this is a red band, outlined in white, and on the band, in white, appears "H.P.HOOD & SONS MILK."

The car came in a plain white box with a label on one end flap reading 'NORTH EAST TRAINS, 43 Main Street, Peabody, Ma. 01969."  That much is pre-printed on the label in black.  In addition, stamped on the label in blue ink is the single word "HOODS."

The car body appears to be the same mold as used by Frank's Roundhouse.  However, I cannot find this car described on-line as a Frank's Roundhouse product, nor can I find it in Greenberg's Guide to Kusan Trains.  I'd really like to know for sure who made it.

I realized that your post had been sitting there for a while, Mike, but figured that I might yet get your attention.  Thank you and RT both for your suggestions.  The Yahoo group was most helpful:  the car was by FRH but redecorated for sale by North East Trains in 1993.  It is an excellent decorating job, too!
