Hello from a not-so-new-to-trains nut

Just found this site and wanted to say hey!

As you might guess from my name, I'm partial to MTH products, mainly PS2 engines and DCS, but I do run engines from Lionel, K-Line and Atlas as well.

I'm fairly new to this On-Line stuff and am just figuring out how to find info on areas of interest to me. Looks like lots of good reading material on O-gauge trains here, and I hope you don't mind me coming aboard[:)]

Nice forum name. More folks have "Lionel" in their cognomen. Nice to see some balance here. Welcome.

Thank you all for the unexpected and warm welcome.

Here is a little bit about my layout, and I use the term loosely!

I run primarily Lionel/K-Line 027 track, and used to be strictly conventional. I say used to be, until I met a fellow train guy who was geographically closer to me than I would have ever expected. Living in Kansas, I didn’t expect there to be much demand for model railroading, was I ever surprised. I paid him a visit one weekend and he showed me his DCS stuff and how it operated. I've been hooked ever since. He is the one that actually steered me to this train forum and another good forum as well, however, this is the first one I registered with. I don't want to move to fast that I cannot absorb some of the stuff I see before my very eyes.

Anyway, about my layout, it's pretty much just a plywood table top that I've secured my track to and added a few accessories and most recently, about 6 months ago, DCS.

I primarily just wanted to say hello. I don't generally have a whole lot to say, just mostly enjoy reading. But if I do have a problem, it looks like this is a good place to get an answer.

It really doesn’t take much to have fun with trains. We also run 027 track and use DCS. Be sure to check out our web page by clicking on the icon below.
