As Bob said, RMTs are a novelty and now an expensive novelty.

Yep, some buy it now prices on the bay seem reasonable for the RMT beeps and RDC units. There is also some on the bay at retail prices that I would guess will be listed there for quite a while.

I just saw this post after I had been looking at Ma and Pa website.  Specifically I was looking at this:

Marty has it priced at $249.00.

I have three Beeps and there is no comparison to Williams in terms of quality.  I have had everyone of my Williams apart to add TMCC and they are built very ruggedly.

As Bob said, RMTs are a novelty and now an expensive novelty.

Yikes. I hadn't seen the price spike.

My price on the pre-order of an A and a B was $146.85 postpaid.

The new price of $359.95 for an A-A and $174.95 for a B is quite a change.

Glad they said they will honor the pre-order price.

Agreed they are a novelty, and when the Beep price matched their size they were fun to buy.But now,,well not the same thing anymore. It's still a good product but price wise they have changed.

Well, the point of the Beef and the passenger car set is that they are a novelty. I'll be happy with the NYC set and that will fill the bill for novelty on my railroad. Oh, not counting the NYC Genesis and SD90 locos or the upcoming DD35 ...

I'd rather go with a full size Williams.

Yep, I am with ya on that one. I would compare Williams F-3's and even MTH Railking F-3's with the RMT's. For the price, very hard to beat a set of MTH Railking F-3's if you are a command control operator.

RMT products are discounted, but even so..I have seen them at York and your not getting much for the money. I'd rather go with a full size Williams.

Cool!

I ran a photo of what was a very early prototype in the September 2006 Product News.

I've had the locos and car set on order since 2006. I hope I'll hear from RMT soon!

RMT F-3's

I received the RMT e-mail announcing their F-3's in numerous roadnames. The picture of the Santa Fe looks pretty good but the listed price for these little guys are sticker shock big time. The AA set sells for $360, the B unit another $175. I would think the retailers will have to discount these guys significantly to garner any sales.

I have 3 of the RMT Beeps and a few pieces of rolling stock and the retail priice was quite a bit lower than the listed price. The locomotives are great runners, terrific locos for the kids to run.
