I have a 610 Erie Switcher. It is similar to the 613, but has no lights. It will run great in both directions with no cars. With cars coupled it runs well forward ( long hood being forward ) It can pull a fair sized train, 6 or 7 cars with no problem,. But in reverse ( cab going forward ) trying to push or pull cars through curves it does not run very well. For some reason the load on the wheel sets going through the curve puts too great a load on the locomotive and it will spin its wheels. Its a nice little switcher, I have had it since the 1960s I think I saw another post some time ago with someone else having a similar problem with this 600 series switcher.
It should pull an average length train w/o much trouble. I run about 10 car trains on my layout. I have not tried it very much at slow speeds.

Does it pull well? Also, can it pull at low speeds? Thanks.
I have one. It runs fine long hood first. When I run it cab first, once in a while it jerks, like something is binding. I have not tried to see what is making it do that.
I do not own one but have seen them run on layouts. They look good to me. However,,,there is another 3 rail forum were a small group love to trash Lionel and they complained about the motor not running right. I know this isn't much help, but the ones I saw were running just fine.

Hello all. I'm considering purchasing the above item and was wondering if anyone could offer any feedback (plus or minus) on their experience with the unit. Thanks much. Paul
