wireless cameras

Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced wireless camera that I can use to mount on O scale locomotives and rolling stock?

MicroMark has a setup that's around $100. Although they've changed their shipping methods, so be ready to wait 17-20 days for your order.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

How does the wireless cam work?  Do you plug the reciever into the TV and then put the cam on a train car and attach the 9V battery to the cam, then wirelessly it will send a signal to the reciever then broadcast it onto the TV, correct??  this is cool.  I might wanna get one for my Postwar and standard gauge trains.  thanks.

Almost correct.  The wireless link is actually between the camera and the receiver.  The receiver connects to the TV with a cable.  So to use the camera you have to have a TV that has available RCA-plug video inputs, like the kind used for a video game controller.

Also be aware that if you want to make a video to distribute online, it will require additional v ideo capture hardware to interface with your computer, and appropriate software.   You can't direct the output straight into your computer (unless it is already equipped with a video capture card).

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Are you referring to a 17-20 day wait on any order from Micromark or just on certain items like the wireless camera?

My experience with MicroMark has been a very quick turnaround  - - - 3 to 5 days at most.

Another place to look is the cameras being used by model airplane guys, my brother flies his models with a pair of TV goggles using the on-board camera.  They're really small and light, so they'd likely be suitable to mount in the locomotive and be practically or totally invisible. :)  They're not all that expensive for the low-end models, and that's all you'd need for the short ranges involved.
