If your T-1 is an MTH engine the CW-80 won't work with it, NOT on the list of compatible transformers by MTH. Personally I would rather have a 100 watt transformer than an 80 watt.
Most of your larger engines, steam and diesel need larger curves or they de-rail!!
Curved trestles down a hill is just an accident waiting to happen in my opion, especially with a T-1 steam engine because of the weight. Use a smaller 2-4-2 steam engine with magna-traction for a trestle set.

Hi CHAD,
Glad you made the transition to the bigger transformer. About getting into so many different things. Slow down and run your train on the layout you have. If you like all the clearences that is needed with your T1 then you can start to think about different accessories and what to get, and where to put it. This is my third layout and have found out that NOT rushing into the layout and watching the train run, desiffers what I will do with accessories. I run lots of different trains and want to make some sound decisions on how to operate them. So for now run the train have fun with your daughter, and both of you can decide what would look best for the layout. As far as remote control, its the best. If you can afford it go with it. It gives you all the action right in the palm of your hand. Good luck.
