From my past experiance with Weaver freight cars, you must have all Weaver on that particular train or suffer bad results, as in derailments galore! I have a few Weaver cars and they are shelf kings. They look nice but don't stay on the track when used with other brands, also I have noticed that there is a coupler heigth problem to deal with as well.

I would contact Weaver, http://weavermodels.com/ , and see what it would take to swap the fixed mount for the traditional 3rail truck mounted coupler.

Weaver RS3 couplers
Posted by RDG-GEEP7 on Sunday, May 1, 2011 2:38 PM

My Weaver RS3 has the couplers mounted to the body with a plastic clip that keeps the coupler centered except when going around a curve. My curves are 042 radius. The coupler seems to go to it's extreme side allowance and then pulls the following car, which has truck mounted couplers, off the track. I bought a set of KayDee couplers, but they are the wrong scale for the other cars. Anyone out there have any suggestions??Thanks.
