Just returned from seeing Harry Potter at the local theater tonight. The preview was for Polar Express that is to be released in November. Good move on Lionel's part to be tied into this new flick. [:)]

The web site for the movie trailer is at:

I just was able to see the trailer here at home with the speakers.. You will like it when the conductor says, "All aboard!"

I found out who is part of the promotional efforts for the movie

Just a brief synopsis: the story is about a little boy who has been told by his friends that there is no Santa, and that no matter how long he stays awake, he'll never hear the sound of Santa's bells.

Christmas Eve, while laying awake he hears the sound of squealing brakes and hissing steam outside his window. Instead of Santa, it's a big steam pulled passenger train.

He gets on the train, goes to the North Pole, meets Santa, gets the first present of Christmas, loses it, goes home, wakes up Christmas morning, opens presents, finds his "lost" present under the tree.

While it may sound goofy, it is in fact one of the most touching, tear-jerking Christmas stories ever.

For what it's worth.....

At the L.O.T.S. meeting last week Bill Bracey told the crowd that there are some big dollars being put into the promotion of this movie and that Lionel is now the exclusive maker of this train. It is intended to be a Christmas classic.
