Hello
I am building a O scale club layout and wondering how to wire this. I have MTH scale trax track and i am using the DCS system. I am planning on buying the lionel legacy system and wondering how i can wire them for use on the same track. I no that the MTH DCS system uses the center rail for power and the outside rails for the ground, I have heard that the legacy system uses the outer rail for the power but i am not sure about this. Please if you have any knowledge about hooking these two systems together your help will be much appreciated.
Thank You
Brent
They should work fine together, there are many people posting in the OGR forums that run that combination.
Have you checked out how to hook up both the DCS and Legacy systems? You will most likely need an adapter cable to go between the two bases(MTH's DCS and Lionel's Legacy system).
This is just my opion but having two differant command control systems gets expensive. I paid about $350.00 for what all I have with DCS & the AIU(MTH's accessory control).

One uses radio and the other uses track for communication.
We have the DCS and Legacy both connected individually to the test track. The only common point is the Z-4000 power source.

Bob's right. Unless you want to run Legacy with DCS remote [I can not "reason" why], just wire them separate and they work great. No interference at all. Run TMCC/Legacy engines all around DCS engines. Can't mix them with each other this way. Legacy will run conventional engines better than DCS. Enjoy!!!
