Traction Tires for MPC/Lionel Engines
Posted by Tower49 on Thursday, March 31, 2011 1:01 PM

Guys:

As some of you may know, I've been resurrecting my old MPC/Lionel engines from the the early 70's, dusting them off, cleaning them up. I'm currently completeing the re-awakening of a late 1970/early 1971 Illinois Central Diesel GP-9.

Her  old traction tires just disintigrated in the box after 30+ years in storage, I guess. I need to find replacements. I have some MTH and Williams tires on hand from my newer locos, but wheel flange sizes can vary, and I'm not sure they'd fit.

I'd like to replace with OEM tires if I can.

Any suggestions?
