Pre-war gray coal tenders
Posted by Dicksclassics on Saturday, March 26, 2011 11:55 AM

Question:   What color lettering, white or silver did Lionel put on their gray/gunmetal diecast coal tenders?  I know the 763E, 225E and 224E came with these rare tenders, but not sure what color the letters were.  I have black 2226w with white lettering, black 2235w with white lettering and black 2224W with silver lettering. I have an original grey 2226 tender shell that has had the lettering removed, and wish to re-letter with the correct color.
