Into the future to get back to my past. Layout Update!
Posted by KRM on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 7:07 PM

Well here is my update not much going on but I did go today and get some light blue wall paint for the basement walls behind the table. I could not just leave them in raw concrete. Next will be painting the table frame and legs, putting on the table tops and then elect outlets and some better lighting.

Wife thinks I should do gray on the table legs and frame but I am not sure. Any suggestions?

I will keep you posted.

Thanks,

Kevin outside Marseilles

What a mess!

I think the blue is much better.

Do yourself a favor, before you start investing a lot of time on layout building get a roof over your head.   It will be a lot easier now than it will be later.  A ceiling helps with dust control, soundproofing, and makes the space look a whole lot better.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

stebbycentral,

Yeah I forgot to add that I need to do lighting and ceiling. I have to pull elect for the layout power and lights that are not on the same switch as the rest of the basement.

When you do the electric, you may want to run extra wires so that later you can add another circuit without having to go to much trouble or expense. I find it best to keep lighting on it's own circuit, just in case you overload your 120 volt outlets, there is nothing like being in the dark when you pop a circuit breaker due to overload.

philly,

Thanks for the suggestions. I was planning on pulling enough wire to do several circuits because I want to have some other places in the basement ready for if and when I would finish it out and was going to do two 20amp for the table. So I think I have that covered. As for the lighting it will also be separate.

Tks,
