252 & 254 Headlight Mounting
Posted by j.mel on Saturday, March 19, 2011 10:07 PM

Is the bracket inside the engine shell of a 252 & 254 engine suppose to have its pointed end bent over the square insulated mounting tab to hold the head light contact in place.

Most of these I have seen are only partially bent over, some not at all. What is the purpose of these "tabs"?

Thanks

John

John,

You are correct. The brackets are designed to bend over the bottom of the headlight contacts and hold them in place.

If you are looking for a rare train, ask i might surprise you with an asking price!!! A guy asked if i liked fast track, and i replied i used t-rail. He said eww that old stuff you bolt together???? Ignorance must be bliss!
