Stud contact track?
Posted by fahrwud on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 10:19 PM

Greetings everyone,

Just getting into 3-rail, after years of...ahem.....prejudice, but then I got a Polar Express set........

Question that has probably been asked before, but why did MTH or Lionel never come up with a stud contact 3 rail system? Does Marklin hold all the rights or patent, etc? I realize that rollers and studs wouldn't be a good match, but for those desiring it, maybe a retrofit shoe something like the old Marx locomotives?

Curiously yours

Dave
