Oh, wow how do I start.... I got a MTH 20-2154-1 today at an auto swap meet at a good price put it on the track and it ran for a minute and the sounds stopped when the throttle was off so I thought I would take a look inside see how the battery was, bad idea.
I got to the middle two screw's of the six that hold the chassis to the body and i felt something give.
I thought at the moment to leave it, so I tightened the screw back down (and the rest) and against my better judgment I put it back on the track and proceeded to attempt to charge the battery.
After a period of time I don't care to talk about, I checked it to find the sound still going until the throttle was at 0. So back off the screw's and the bad news...
What moved was a MTH spring contact that powered the headlight marker-lights ex. I had moved it to the side and caused it to short-out and fried a lot of wires. I think the boards might be OK, at the very least it needs a complete rewiring.[#NO!!!!]
I need a wiring diagram for a MTH 20-2154-1 SD-70 MAC, please help!!!
MTH site has only a parts diagram and a operation manual.
I have a lot of rewiring ahead me, and some simple clip connectors to by-pass the MTH "spring contacts" this is the second time they have caused me grief, although this time it is mostly my fault. (and much more expensive)
I will try to get around to uploading some pictures.
