Just received the 2-10-4 I purchased off ebay. It was described as new and to me it looks like it was never out of the box. when put on the track it will not respond to command controll or conventional controll. Any thought or ideas to try before I send it off for repair? Thank you in advance, Jason

open her up and reseat all plugs/wires as one may be loose best to really one by one remove then replace to be sure. if still no go you might try emailinng lionel tech guys at techsupport@lionel.com they claim to have about one day response time (I called and was talking to them 2 days ago) you can also try calling them. they tell you what part you need and you may be able to fix it your self and not pay the labor to fix it on top of cost of parts.
Just a thought

I dropped the 2-10-4 off this morning for repair at Ormandy's in Medina, Ohio. They were highly recommended by Lionel. I tried all connections and wiring. I could not find anything obvious. I will up date the info when I find out what was bad.
