HO coupler conversion for Life-Like passenger cars
Posted by Fireball3 on Friday, February 25, 2011 7:46 PM

I'm new to the forum.  What is the best means to convert old (30-40 yrs) Life-Like passenger car hook/horn couplers to magnetic knuckle couplers?   The cars have an integral plastic coupler holder tied to the wheel sets.

Thanks, Fireball3

Welcome aboard

Suggest that you post your question on the "Model Railroaders" Forum.  A lot of  "HO" guys there.  The "Classic Toy" Forum guys and gals are mainly into "O".    All the best!

McHenry makes a direct replacement, but if you want KaDees (preferred) you have to buy a conversion kit.

Thanks.  The Kadee #28 seems to work as a conversion.  Do you know where to acquire the McHenry direct replacement and what the number is?
