Lubricating 3360 Burro Crane
Posted by gottcent on Thursday, February 24, 2011 7:41 PM

I recently picked up a 3360 Burro crane at a train show. It seems to operate well, but I would like to lubricate the armature shaft with one or two drops of light oil. The instructions say to do this with a wire applicator through the cab window without removing the cab, but I can't see well enough inside to know where to place the oil. There is a small hold in the roof of the cab (under the boom screw mechanism) that seems to be placed where the shaft should be. Can I insert oil through that hole, or must I remove the cab itself? If the latter, any tips you have on doing this safely without messing up the unit's complex mechanism will be appreciated.

Hi JOHN,

I have 2 Burro cranes and you have to take the cabs off to lubricate the armature.  Here are instructions as on the manual by Lionel.  Hope this helps.

It's not hard just take off cab and loosen set screw add a few drops of oil replace set screw and put on cab.
