For some reason I can't reply individually tonight and one earlier reply to my question is already off the list. I'll try to form a better question after I've read the titles suggested and received some UPSed stuff I was told would arrive on the 20th. Thanks, again.

Try purchasing a copy of the book entitled
"COMPLETE SERVICE MANUAL for Lionel
Trains" by K-Line. this book is a large hard
bound volume 732 pages of anything you
may ever need to know about servicing or
repairing Post War Lionel Trains and other
accessories. This book does not cover the
new-tech stuff like TMCC, DCC or sound
boards, but it does show parts layouts and
wiring for motors, locos, accessories, etc.

You can usually find this book in a hobby
shop dealing in trains. I got mine years ago
for about $12 as I remember. May be more now.
Still a great investment.

Could some one point me to an illus. or pic of the motor for a postwar lionel engine, please?

Thanks.
