How Can I Insert A Hyperlink?
Posted by Texas Pete on Monday, February 14, 2011 8:34 AM

Last week I wanted to put a link to a parts diagram at Olsen's. I figure this is done by using the "insert/edit link" icon, but mine is grayed out. Does it have to be turned on by a moderator?

Try using firefox to accomplish the insert.

Just paste the URL into the post and put a space after it.

Hi Pete, just highlight the words you wish to be 'under' the link and the insert/link appears.  (I still can't figure out how to post a photo - the media link doesn't work for me. )

Olsen's Train Parts Library

Viola!  Thanks, folks.

Bob - Firefox is my browser of choice.

Type:

"["IMG"]"the url of the image"["/IMG"]"  without the quotes.

Or use Photobucket.com, copy the IMG code from the bottom box that will appear under the picture if you hover the mouse pointer over it, and just paste it into your post where you want the picture to be.

You do not need to use the insert media icon.
