Upper level on the railroad
Posted by mgbbob on Sunday, February 6, 2011 7:55 AM

Today is the day.  I expect to complete the upper loop and power the line today.  It will be a test run.  I will pull it back apart for paint and roadbed later.  I will try to post some pictures of the progress later today.

The loop is O27 and is specifically for my prewar stuff.  The 248 will be the prime mover.  No switches yet.  I will incorporate a post war stop station (I can't remember the number.  Now I need to buy some prewar passenger cars.  I want something illuminated.  Any suggestions.  I can do restorations if not lithographed.

Sounds cool.  The PW stop station is a 132.  One of my favorite pieces for stopping trains and trolleys on my layout (since Bob N explained to me how it works and how to wire it!)  Embarrassed

Will be eager to see photos.  I too want to add a special pre-war only loop or line on my next layout.  I don't  have too much pre-war but I would like to run what I do have.  I think that they add a lot to the experience of Lionel.
