More information would be helpful. Dimensions of your space and type of trains are important factors. Thor has tons of plans posted, some very nice ones too. The trick is to sift through them. Here's the link.

The max width is 110 inches and the max length is 125 inches. I plan to use HO trains but O scale is possible. Im not looking for a layout with more than 2 or 3 trains.

That should help.[swg]

That's a nice size for HO or 3 rail O. Can you walk around the outside of that area, or do you need to leave room to move? It sounds like a small bedroom. There are lots of plans for spaces that size. If you are planning a table top of those dimensions, keep in mind how far you can easily reach. 4' is about the max, 3' is better. I'll go look at Thor's and post some links of a couple I like for that space. HO and O will be rather different.

I found these fairly quickly. The first two pages have O gauge layouts. Some may be a little big or small, but they can be adjusted to fit your space.

Below are HO layouts.

I think I will go with the layout below.

It's an O scale layout from the first link http://www.thortrains.net/oldlay4.htm I will use it as a table top layout; so I will make it big enough to fit in the back of the room and leave out the center between the station and the log loader to walk around and reach parts of the layout like you said. That should leave a little room for creativity. I hope thats what I need to get started![swg]

Good choice!! That was one of the ones I liked best for the space.[8D]
