Tracks Ahead is shown in Chicago on Monday evenings from 7:30-8:00 pm on WYCC, which I believe is the PBS affiliate in Milwaukee, WI. WYCC broadcasts are on "free TV", not cable. Perhaps you can also get the Milwaukee PBS broadcasts in St. Paul. It's a great show.
Good Luck!
wyomingscout RFD TV runs a program called "I Love Toy Trains" mostly about Lionel, but some other stuff, too. There have been several programs showcasing layouts as well as a lot of history about the Lionel Lines. Most of the programs are from TM Books and Video. I've got their "Celebrity Train Layouts" featuring Frank Sinatra's, Tom Snyder's, and Mandy Patinkin's. I especially like the Patinkin video; he's so excited about his layout! If you get RFD TV, give it a look. wyomingscout

They also did a complete program on Mike and MTH. Interviewd him and showed the MTH layout. Then they did one on Tony Lash's layout and some on other big city museums' layouts. I DVR them.

The strange thing about the trains shows was that the batch of them made in the 1980's were too relaxed and undefined for television. Then 20 years later there are some real trains shows which are too high intenstity for some viewers.
How about something not too weak and not too strong about applying real railroads to model railroads. Something with information about procedures and practices that is clear, but not oversimplified.
If I could get a job producing Television shows about Railroads, I could show you what to do.

wyomingscout,
You are correct about RFD TV's show on "I Love Toy Trains," the show is entertaining and informative.
Their other shows are great, too.
RFD TV is on cable channel 247, here in N.Y.S.

Boyd I watch History, History International, Discovery and other cable channels. I'm seeing more repeats this time of year. I would guess many of the people who watch the history channel would have some interest in a show on say the history of Lionel trains,, or the history of model trains, or on the guys who build custom layouts. I know one of the channels ran the series on real trains but it was not renewed.

Maybe Kalmbach would do it.
But not Lionel, how about American Flyer instead.

Tracks Ahead with Spencer Christian has been around for a while, and the site says a new season is coming this year. http://www.tracksahead.net/ The only issue for me is that I never know when it is on.
DIY network also had a model railroading show for a while. They would review a new model, and each week they would follow the progress of an HO railroad being built. Woodland Scenics was one of the sponsors, so the railroad was being done with their Subterrain system. I enjoyed it while it was on, but it didn't run very long.
I would love to see another railroading show come on, it would be the only reality TV I'd watch.
There use to be a model railroader show about 15 years ago that was shown in the Pennsylvania area. I saw a few of them, they were interesting to watch.
