LV, I think that overall CTT is BY FAR the best magazine in the 3-rail hobby.

After reading all the comments about the various magazines, I have come to the following conclusion. YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE!!!! If you don't like it, just say "No thanks, I prefer not to buy." Just be thankful that there is a magazine covering the hobby.

Hey guys,
I think this thread has been beaten to death. Why don't we let this topic drift off to page two...three...four... etc.

Hi Bob,

By the time we're done there will be more pages than run 202 of OGR.

I agree with hooch. I have had my differences with Rich Melvin and OGR but I will not post them here. This thread sure seems like a cheap shot to me.

"One of the reasons I left OGR is because I was so tired of the butt kissing monkeys. . . Whats in it for you all? I really want to know, honest. Is it driven by some cyber friendship?, a wannabee status? Lack of testosterone?, need for a father figure? I really believe that ogr's whining little circle of snobbish -puritanical -know -it -alls truley brings out the VERY worst of this hobby."

Hmm. . . seems to me that the fellow who made the above-quoted post represents the very worst of the hobby!

I'm not too impressed with OGR Period I used to buy the magazine and post to the forum. NO MORE! some time ago when Union Pacific started their crap., Rich deleted any threads that had to do with this issue. Rich thought the problem would go away if we just plead with UP. I told him he was wrong then and now events have proven me right. This hobby does not need magazine editors with their head in the sand.

Well I guess I was not impressed,so I'd better get on the CTT forum and bash OGR some more. Is that your idea of constructive criticism?? I have spenr considerable amounts of Money advertizing in both CTT and OGR. In general I have found OGR to be a little superior
with respect to My adveryizing feedback from Customers. But that does not mean one is bettewr than the other. Niether of them has ever told me"Sorry we can't run your ad this issue because our ad VS ARTICLE RATIO is not high enough/low enough this Month. They
both gladly accepted all My ads. They both ran My product review submissions equally. I
simply weighed my own ad response ratio with My Ad cost and found OGR more satisfactory. I have had much better personal relations with Rich Melvin than with Neil B,

If you posted it over there it would get zapped. They do not run freedom of speech over there. Whatever gets a little bit on the MTH negative side its history. dave.

Rich Melvin on the CTT forum? I never thought I'd see the day.
I subscribe to CTT and get OGR at a hobby shop. OGR has improved 100% under its new management, especially in its graphic design.
But I get both, not only for the editorial content, but FOR THE ADS! OGR has a lot of advertisers that CTT doesn't, and Train world runs entirely different ads in CTT and OGR.

I think flame wars are comical (like this one) and don't like seeing them deleted.

I seldom post here. I do post, and read, more on the OGR forum. I have never encountered any hostile replies to my postings. I have seen threads deleted, but only because they have degenerated into name calling and bashing (as this one seems to be doing), or if they have topics that Rich has specified are off limits (politics, religion, etc.). I really feel that those that have left OGR for what ever reason, should refrain from posting hostile remarks over here (I know that they are ranting and raving and trying to let off steam, but they still shouldn't do it). It is just plain rude and inconsiderate. Over on the OGR, I go by alfick3. I will step down now. Thank you for your time.

Cheif,

Thank you very much for the kind words. You are most welcome. Sorry the email bounced. The email address should be: rk1940@verizon.net. I have had several state that their emails bounced-I am not sure why (email seems to be flakey).

I cannot begin to describe how much I have learned from the OGR Forum. My experience with Command Control (both DCS and TMCC) has been a very pleasant and successful one, due to the information provided there. I am looking forward to a similar experience here on the CTT Forum.

Keep running and enjoying the trains!

RAK402, thanks for all your help over there [OGR] and here too. Sent you an email saying so several days ago but it returned. You been really informative on DCS and PS2. Thanks again. And, yes, I look forward to both.

I haven't seen either the new OGR or the new CTT, but I am looking forward to both and forming my own opinions about them.

As far as the censorship issue on OGR, threads have been deleted only, in my opinion, when they degenerated to the point where they had become useless or ended up with mindless arguing/flaming.

I have had a couple deleted over there and believe that I deserved it.

I'll say one thing, the people here on CTT are a lot more down to earth.

Neil B and CTT, thanks for providing this great forum.
