Conventional Classic GG-1 problems
Posted by overall on Monday, January 3, 2011 7:22 AM

I attempted to run my CC GG-1 last night when I noticed one of the wheels on one of the power trucks had sheered off! It was loose in the truck side frame. Has anybody else had this problem? Do I need to send it back to Lionel? Who do I need to talk to there? I have several other CC items that do run well. Am I going to have problems with them down the road?

Thanks,

George

WOW, have not heard about that issue, the axel must have been damaged during assembly. There has been a multitude of issues with the Lionel classics in which Lionel was correcting under warranty. If you currently have defects you should contact Lionel before the warranty expires and hits ya in the billfold. Check there website for contacting the service department which is located in Ohio.

I was one of the first people to get the CC GG1's a couple years back. Lionel never even so much as offered to fix mine. What I got was "gee, thats the first we have heard of that ". Never said send it back or "we will fix it". I got two right out of the box from the same store and BOTH were junk. I finally sent the second one off to be repaired by an independant party. It took even more work after that to make it work ok. A wheel shearing off is a new one to me. I know of at least 6 other problems with them.  I hope you find a solution.
