DMUinCT, thanks for the info. Looks simple, I will try it today. Again Thanks
Yes,
Once you are setup, it becomes easy. It's the setup that takes time.
To actually do a change or upgrade you will need to buy a cord from Radio Shack or others to connect your "TIU" to your computer. You will need an RCA phono-jack to plug into the "TIU" to tell it it's in Program Mode. The rest is easy, now and in the future.

Now, before you buy anything, you should go "on-line" to the MTH wed site and follow the links to DCS Upgrades. Download the "Loader Program" and any instructions. The "Loader Program" lets you download sound files to your computer and then to your locomotive. You can now select almost any sound file for any locomotives MTH made. It also lets you upgrade the "TIU" and Remote to the latest software. It's all free. When you go to download it says "Purchase", but the next screen will say "$0.00" (I have an RS3 with FA-2 sound)

Hi guys,
Just a quick question. Can a PS 2.0 engine's sound be upgraded? If it can, can it be done at home or do I have to go to a service center to have this done? I just noticed that everytime I run my MTH NYC Hudson J1e, i notice a lot of difference in sound compared to the ones on Youtube. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Glen
