Are you saying that the figure extends on its own after you try to push it back in?

Can you provide more details? I have the same car jsut didi some maintenance so may be able to help.

Try the mechanism with the body removed.
My guess is that the mechanism will retract.
Sometimes parts get mis-aligned, and the mechanism rubs in the doorway or against the doors, causing it to hang up.
Or your mechanism could be gummed up.
Then the answer is to disassemble it and clean all the parts. Sometimes I'll poilsh them with Simachrome or Flitz.
Whatever you do, don't put any wet lubricants on any of the parts.

I agree with the removal of the body to do a basic test, however WD-40 can do wonders.

WD-40 may help in the short run. Over time it will attract dirt and get sticky and gummy.
It has its uses. I clean and protect my tools with it.

Do you have any other cars that use the accessory track piece? I bought a 3472 and had the same problem and after rewiring the shoes still nothing was happening. After looking at the track piece noticed the track shoe section needed some soddering even though the uncoppler magnet worked. fixed that and the mine worked fine after that.
