A Festivus for the rest of us!  Yes!  My local station ran that episode last nite!  Somehow trains circling the galvanized pole just doesn't seem right...  : ) LOL

Merry Christmas!  Happy Kwanza!  Happy New Year!

We are well into the holiday season.  We already have Hanukkah (Dec 1 to 9), the winter solstice (Dec 21 5:38 PM CST), and Festivus (yesterday) behind us.  Next is Christmas or Yule, which lasts the 12 days until the Epiphany (Jan 6).  But then we can celebrate the whole thing again, because the next day is Christmas again according to the Julian calendar; and Jan 19 is the Orthodox version of the Epiphany, or Theophany.  That's nearly a month of Christmas!

Along the way, we will have Kwanzaa (Dec 26 to Jan 1), New Year's Day, and perihelion (Jan 2 6 PM CST).  So, merry Christmas, and happy holidays!
