Hello,
my previous post a while back is gone, does anyone know what screws I should use for screwing 0-31 track down onto plywood?
Thank you in advance
Small Layout Question
Rob
Thank you, I Tried to find it but I din't see it in the "my topics" section
I use a # 6 screw 3/4 inch long to hold my tubular track to the plywood, phillips head so you can use a small drill to install the many screws needed for a decent size layout. Use a 5/64 pilot hole and you will find the screws go in much easier. Don't use too long a screw or it will go through the plywood underneath. I say this, as I run wires underneath and don't like to get scraped by overlong screws sticking down.
You can buy the screws at Home Depot or Lowes in the hardware section in boxes of 30 or more, for only a few dollars.

Do you use 0-31 gauge, or o-27 gauge
I screw my O27 track directly to 1/2-inch plywood with 1/2-inch number-4 pan-head Phillips sheet-metal screws into 3/32 inch holes.

The wise young man Do you use 0-31 gauge, or o-27 gauge
I use 031 track with 3/4 inch screws, and half inch screws for 027 track.
