Sorry it took me so long to get back to you!

I have the car in front of me with the bottom of the U shaped groove for the switch pointing towards me.  As I flip it over, with the groove now facing away from me, this is what I see:

Rudimentary diagram of the 4 screws:

L1   R1

L2  R2

The wires from the pick-ups on both trucks are connected to the top left screw, L1.  The wire from the light on the left of the car passes through the frame and is wired to the screw at bottom left, L2.  The wire from the other light goes to the screw on the top right, R1, and nothing is connected to the screw on the bottom right, R2.

However, I don't think this is the way it came from the factory.  The wire from the right truck looks stretched to reach all the way to the top left screw at L1.  So I think someone must have moved it from the bottom right screw, R2 to the top left, L1, to get both lamps to light at the same time.

Hope this helps!  This really is a great car!

Anyone know how to wire up the 520 searchlight car the right way??  I would like to wire this car up the original way it was wired up.  Thanks.

Just wondering, how is your 520 wired underneath??  Where do all the wires start and end?  Thanks.

I'm probably wrong but....

I think it's wired so that if you have the switch to one side or the other it will activate only the light on that end of the car, but if it's in the middle it will light both.  At least that's the way it seems to work on the 520 that I have.  But it's tricky to get both bulbs to illuminate at the same time and the regular shaking / wobbling of the car as it goes along will knock it out of place.  One of these days I'd like to rewire mine so it just acts as an on / off switch for both.

Hello, How do you wire up the 520 searchlight car the original way??  Mine is wired from the pickups directly to the lights.  I have dual pickups, one on each truck, looks like original wiring.  It has a switch on top in the middle, swings both ways and has 4 screws underneath for connecting wires.  Not sure how to wire it up so that I can use the switch.  What positions does the switch have?  A simple off/on switch or does turn off one light and has the other one lighted up?  I have seen pictures, they usually have 2 wires going from the set of 4 screws, one to each light.  How would I do this to utilize the switch on top of the car?  Thanks.
