Dr. Fu-Manchu,
I enjoy your use of Christopher Lee as Dr. Fu-Manchu, for your avitar.
He portrayed an evil, cunning, etc. Dr. Fu-Manchu character, a very good performance.
Take Care,
Ralph
Don,
Dr. Fu-Manchu has given you wise information.
Also, you may want to try: http://www.trainshoppe.com /
They, have a lot of old and reproduced Lionel literature.
Good Luck,
The Doctor is in! First, you are best off getting the Greenburg Post war Lionel repair manual Kline also put out a hard cover version. It covers all of the items you are refering to. As to owner's manuals(instruction sheets) There are folks on Ebay that are selling these or copies of them. Then you need to look at parts dealers for repair parts. And tools, and oil and grease for model trains. Good luck and do not be afraid to ask questions, the only dumb one is the one you don't ask.
At my grown son's urging, I dug out my Lionel train set, dating back to Christmas, 1957 (other items donated later).
I am looking for any owner's/user's manuals for the following items:
Lionel 2023 Locomotive
Lionel 665 Locomotive
Lionel 3469 Coal car
Lionel 6019 Remote.
I also need a recommendation for a good book on maintenance and repair of these items. The 665 in particular needs new power pickups from the middle rail; the current ones are pitted and spark like crazy.
Recommendations for parts sources would be welcome as well.
Thanks.
- Don
