You might want to try a hobby shop that deals in remote controll cars. The smallist that I remember from when I raced was some where around 3/16" ID.  On line ?

I have a box of ball-bearing assemblies at home that I got on E-bay.  I think they're about 5 or 6 millimeters inside diameter.  I'll measure them tonight if that's close to what you're looking for.

By the way, bearings have always been dimensioned in round numbers in millimeters, even in the US.  This may constrain the dimensions that you will need for your application.

Usually ball bearings are dimensioned in mm not in inches.  But there are bearings available which have their ID in inches.  Roller bearings are usually dimensioned in inches rather than mm, at least that was true 30 years ago.

You might try Skycraft in Winter Park, Florida for the bearings:  www.skycraftsurplus.com

From time to time, they have large quantities of ball bearings.
