Newbie looking for help!
Posted by flyboard3 on Sunday, December 12, 2010 9:42 AM

Hi all! Looking for some help. Have a couple of quesitons.

I finally was able to hook up my fathers old lionel train this xmas season.  I have the old slide dial transformer.  I have an oval on a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood and wehen it hits the opposite corner it slows down.  Should I run an other wire to that corner or is it that my transformer isn't working properly?

Also, I have two sets of switches.  Lionel No. 1122  how do i hook them up and will my trans run them?

Thanks!

Had the same problem when I set up my old set. I got another lockon and ran a second feed to the far corner. Helped a lot. Should solve the problem.

The Lionel Service Manual has a lot of info on your 1122 switches and the Lionel Owner's Manual for the very similar 5122 switches has good diagrams and layout ideas.
