Ross Bed
Posted by 67flh on Thursday, December 9, 2010 8:51 AM

I am in the process of laying all of my track with Ross Bed over a homasote 1/2" base. The track fits very snugly into the Ross bed. What I am wanting to do is lay out all of the track and bed and then tack the bed down with small Brads, pull up the track and drill thru the bed for all my wiring. I do not plan on having to secure the track in very many places. Does this sound feasable? How have you fastened Ross bed to your table?

I would not suggest using nails, as they are very difficult to remove if you have any problem. Use a number 4 or 6 screw from a hardware store about an inch long or better, if you need to put a small washer over the screw to make it fit better.

Gargraves sells some # 6 screws about 3/4 of an inch already painted black for a few dollars. You should be able to find these at a local hobby shop.

Just to clarify, I am not going to nail down the track, just the Ross Bed and only into the homasote. I do not plan on going into my plywood base. Thanks!
