Seeing an actual/prototype/'real deal' railroad train invokes the excitement to operate a model railroad.
If it weren't for actual railroads, among other things, there would be no model railroads.
After all, we may be older, but being big kids we like our trains and still want to play.

Conrail was formed 4 months after I was born, and all I saw growing up was Big Blue and Susie-Q Bumblebees, and now we have the "Dark Future" rolling by, and the Susquehanna has retired all of the black/yellow GP-18's, Alcos and SD-45's (all but 1) that I used to chase through town after I got my license.
I don't think those ex-SP and Rio Grande SD-40T-2's have the same presence. But they sure are BIG!
It's a shame that all of the big railroads, for viewer rail fans, are gone now.
This country had plenty of Class 1 and many smaller roads to enjoy and the few newer ones are also enjoyable, but.....

Don't worry about me, once its off, its off. the NYC didn't have many GP's with dynamic brakes on the Water Level Route!
Especially around the Mohawk Valley, where my grandfather was head of the section gang and where we still live.

Be careful and try not to continually remove and replace the Dynamic Air Brake Blister, if you do, because pressure scratches will occur at the top edges of the the long hood, near the roof walk.

It should just pull straight up.
I noticed from the exploded drawing of the Lionel GP's that the dynamic brake housing is a separate piece.
It seems loose, but I didn't want to just yank. What is the correct way to remove it?
