Hah-Hah-Hah-Hah-Hah!  Good 'un!  Next time, I'll stop and think, "What would Jim do". LOL

Tim,

Thanks for the link.  I would have tried to destroy that nut before throwing it out.Devil  Better yet, destroy the transformer since it has been contaminated.

That may be a tough one, Rich.  Here is a "junker" on eBay:

Not knowing what the final winning bid will be, it is probably an expensive way to get that post nut.

I guess I would match it up as best I could at either Ace or True Value until I found one at a train show.  I have found that the above two stores carry more "old-fashioned" hardware than the big-box stores.

I bought a transformer recently that was a good one but had a Lionel nut on one post.  I threw that nut away.  LOL

Good luck!

Does anyone know where I could get a terminal nut to fit one of these transformers?  I have the hex nut that holds the terminal to the back plate, but the blackened nut that holds the wire against the hex nut is gone.  I checked the Portlines and FRG sites, but I don't see a listing for this part.
