I pried them up a bit with a small screwdriver then removed them with a minature pliers.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
How?
I got them out. Thanks for the help.
Joe:
Some guys will touch the tip of a hot soldering iron to the head of the knurled nut to soften the plastic around it a little. Obviously, you do not want to melt the plastic, so a brief touch is advisable and you will have to experiment to find out just how long to leave the soldering iron in contact. Also, be careful when extracting the knurled nut that you do not break the plastic housing or shell on the car.
Do NOT drill them out. They are press-fits. You can extract them by inserting some sort of fine blade tool like a small screwdriver underneath them and working them out. Once your task is completed they can be pushed back into place and they will hold just fine. I haven't had any experience with passenger cars, but I have performed this technique successfully on several different boxcar bodies.
I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
I need to remove the body of an AF 650 passenger car. I know the four brass pins hold it on. Do I have to drill them out or is there some other way to remove them ?
