"prospective" future son-in-law works at the local HD store. I showed him the new MTH catalog with all the HD rolling stock and buildings, and he went gaga. Told him I would keep adding to his collection each year "IF" he were to marry oldest princess. Was that a fair deal...?
Funny enough since my Christmas presents this year were a small collection of MTH Harley Davidson trains that were bought from a second hand dealer by my wife for me. Since we do ride a Harley it makes a nice connection between the two. I will be looking for more iun the future.

Yep, I agree. I have a friend who has a small farm and has a few of the real deal antique John Deere tractors. He is not really a train guy but does purchase just about all of the MTH John Deere locomotives and rolling stock. Every once in a while he will set-up a few sheets of plywood in the barn and run his MTH John Deere trains.

"Crossover" is what MTH and Lionel are counting on with Harley, NASCAR, etc. from many non-train people. Subjects like Christmas, Disney, etc. are most likely bought mainly by train people.
Seems like there is a consistant demand for MTH Harley Davidson locomotives, rolling stock and accessories. The licensed product line has been in the MTH catalogs for quite a few years now so there must be a following. I have picked up a couple of the Harley Davidson Holiday cars, they have some nice scenes on them and work well with other Holiday cars. It would be interesting to know if there is a crossover group that are buying the MTH HD trains because they are HD riders, similar to the John Deere crossover buyers.
