I've always used  Krylon satin clear as a fixative on inkjet pictures.  Spray many very light coats and let dry.  If you spray too heavy a coat, the ink may run.  As always TEST on a scrap piece.

Hi there,

Doing a repaint on a basket case diesel/steam picture Flyer 566 billboard. After getting the metal surfaces back to passable, I used Rust-Oleum's gray automotive primer and dry sanded it, and the pieces looked good to go for topcoat.

I used Krylon's Ivory satin enamel for the billboard piece itself, but I'm not convinced of the shade, maybe a tad too yellow. I thought Krylon used to make an Antique White, but couldn't find that. Anybody used something else they thought matched up well for the Flyer billboards, Krylon or otherwise? If not, I may just go with Krylon's semi-gloss white if there are no other suggestions.

I found a Charles Wood Flyer accessory green which I assume will match up well for the base and whistle housing.

Lastly, anybody ever clear topcoat the paper sticker to give it a protective coating? I was wondering if I could use a satin coat over the reproduction sticker to give it some durability, I always see those paper stickers nicked up and all.

Any thoughts? I'll post a picture of the results when I'm done!  Thanks
