Can someone recomment a push button switch to add to my control panel [in progress] to operate turnouts - the Z1000 or Z2500 switches as well as PW and modern Lionel.
The controls that come with these products are a bit large for the panel and looking for some recommendations on the miniature types.
thanks
ralph
I used momentary, double throw, return to center, mini switchs from Radio Shack. Take apart one of the Z-stuff controllers and with duplicating the circuits you can use LED's on the control panel to indicate position.
You could check on line, Acme made some real compact switch buttons in various amounts. I have used them for years...complely trouble free.

For a very compact solution on a control panel, I suggest studs, for example, screw heads, and a grounded probe. This works well with traditional solenoid-operated turnouts; but it may not work with modern turnouts that use some more complicated controller.
