Hi SD40-T2 (great locomotive, great handle):

I know this feeling of despair -- wires are connected, yet the desired results aren't quite happening! Although I can certainly walk you through the ASC version of this scheme wire-by-wire (I'm currently using it on my layout), I'm much less familiar with the SC-2. If you can hold on tight for the evening, I'll see if I can contact the author of the SC-2 tip and alert him to your trouble. Help is on the way.

Twenty-two AWG if your transformer's overcurrent protection trips at about 3 amperes or less.  Eighteen AWG if your transformer's overcurrent protection trups at about 7 amperes or less.

That's not a very clear picture; but I'm pretty sure those aren't actual wires but rather colored lines representing wires of no particular size.

My lionel SC-2 is powered by track power can i use the CW-80 80-Watt Transformer by running wires from the fire station to the terminal strip then wires from the terminal strip to A and U on the CW-80 80-Watt Transformer but confused on the back of the CW-80 80-Watt Transformer it shows track A and U  / Accessory B and U  does this mean i connect wire from the terminal strip to  B and U  on the transformer i  am trying to do this right
