Senco Sound Incorporated Tender?
Posted by edtybor on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 9:29 PM

I am trying to find out some information about an old Senco Sound Incorporated Tender.  It is all metal, says Pennsylvania on it, and has a speaker in it. Any information would help. Does it have any value? Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the site!

The Senco was a system from the late '40s. It didn't seem to do very well, possibly because the tender's weight, and might have been a bit complacated for kids. O Gauge RR mag did a couple short pieces on the Senco a few years back. I could dig them out and copy them if you're interested. Couldn't take a guess on the value. I'd like to gather one up myself sometime.

Thanks. If you come across those articles I would very much like to read them.  I understand the tender also came with a transmitter which ran in between the track and the record player. Do you have any idea what that transmitter looks like?  I have something that may be it.  It is a metal, gold-colored round can with 4 terminals on top. It says Track Transf. on it and inside there is a capacitor and another elctictrical unit.  It also has what looks like a power cord coming out he side, but no prongs on the end (they may just be missing).

I'll dig out the magazines and get the storys copied. send me your mailing addy, and I'll get that sent to you.  Another  guy had posted looking for info on a Senco, a couple years ago, sent it to him, and told him I'd be interested in it. . Spotted it on ebay after the auction ended, sold for $15.

found the mags, and I'll copy the stuff this weekend.

for $24.50, you got the Senco tender, mixer box, a 78rpm record (you had to supply your own record player),ans an instruction book.

That was pretty expensive back then for just a tender.  Do have any idea what the mixer box looked like?

I received the article today. It was interesting. Thank you very much.  It looks like I have the tender and the mixer box, but no record. Since I don't have anyway of using it, I am going to list it on Ebay on Thursday.  Thanks again for all the good information.
